Growing up in the Cowichan Valley, Ruben has always believed that the energy transition is not a technical problem; it is a communication problem. Now an Energy Consultant at Solve -after starting out in door-to-door sales- he aims to address this challenge by helping find what home and business owners really need, and communicating clearly whether solar can help.

Aside from being an energy consultant, Ruben is completing his bachelor's in mechanical engineering at the University of Victoria. There, he is VP Logistics of the UVic Renewable Energy Club, where he extends his passion for clean energy and helping people by creating opportunities for the club to collaborate with other businesses, helping students gain industry experience.

With a continued focus on renewable energy, he is also a researcher and interviewer for The Energy Investor, which is a newsletter covering major deals and trends in the clean energy sector, as well as diving deeper into specific companies by interviewing executives. Always valuing communication, he is also a member of a Toastmasters club, where he practices public speaking.

Outside of work, Ruben enjoys music, being outside, staying active, and spending time with friends and family.
